The Unified League is our competitive league and it is where our more independent athletes play. Unified does not employ Buddies and while coaches are present on the field with the team, the athletes are expected to operate independently.
In Unified we count balls & strikes, we keep score, and the athlete is expected to bat, run and field without a Buddy present. The players are pitched to by their coach.
After the close of Registration, a Skill Session is held for all new players and existing Regular League players interested in playing in the Unified League. Players will participate in hitting and fielding drills with Unified coaches to affirm that Unified is a suitable fit for the athlete.
There are two divisions within the Unified League:
• Unified I is for ages 13 and up
• Unified II is for athletes up to age 12
The athletes age in a given season is their age on the final scheduled game day of that season.
A player over the age of eleven (11) *can* be considered for participation on a Unified I team if the player demonstrates capabilities at the skills session equal to those of athletes already participating on a U1 team (as decided by the participating U1 coaches) and the coach and parent agree that the athlete should participate in U1. The parent will be required to sign a waiver and final approval by the Vice President of Leagues is required.
Our Unified teams usually practice once a week, with the practice time being set by the coach.
Note: Some rules (such as the run limit per inning, which can vary based on the size of the rosters on game day) can be adjusted subject to agreement by the coaches and umpire.
